NOAA selects Karen St. Germain as the new Deputy Assistant Administrator for Systems

NOAA’s Satellite and Information Service (NESDIS) and JDG are pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Karen St. Germain as the new DAAS.  She will guide the ongoing development and deployment of NOAA’s two major satellite programs (Joint Polar Satellite System and the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite-R series), the COSMIC-2 mission, and the upcoming Space Weather Follow-On.  She will also lead the development of the next-generation capabilities that will replenish and augment these systems in the future.  She earned her PhD in Microwave Remote Sensing at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
