JDG completes search for NOAA’s Director of the National Center for Environmental Information

JDG and NOAA are delighted to announce the appointment of Mary Wohlgemuth as the new Director of the National Center for Environmental Information.  She comes to NOAA from the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), where she worked for many years in a variety of leadership roles.  Most recently she served as the Technical Director of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, which is the Navy’s principal research, development, test, and evaluation center for submarine warfare systems.  In this role, she was responsible for nurturing technical and scientific excellence, fostering innovation, and ensuring the long-term health and stability of the organization.  Her experience in leading organizational transformation is also extensive.  On behalf of NAVSEA, she led continuous process improvement efforts across the enterprise that touched 18 command activities and 53,000 employees.  A graduate of Providence College with a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Ms. Wohlgemuth was selected for NAVSEA’s Executive Education Program at Indiana University where she earned a Public Management Certificate followed by a Master of Science degree in Public Affairs.
