JDG completes the search for NBCOT’s President & CEO

JDG and The National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT) are pleased to announce the selection of Ben Price, CAE, ICE-CCP, as its new President & CEO.

As reported on NBCOT’s website, Ben brings more than two decades of leadership experience in health care, credentialing, and public policy, marked by strategic innovation and organizational advancement.

“Ben is an excellent choice to lead NBCOT. He stood out from a large field of highly qualified candidates with his problem-solving skills and legislative advocacy,” said Dee Berline, MBA, OTR/L, chairperson of the NBCOT Board of Directors. “The board of directors and I look forward to working with Ben and continuing the legacy of leadership for occupational therapy.”

Most recently, Ben served as CEO of the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), where he led the organization to remarkable growth in certification numbers, financial stability, and technological advancements. Before that, he was the executive director of the Colorado Association of Health Plans, guiding legislative and regulatory efforts post the Affordable Care Act.

Ben’s contributions to the Association of Surgical Technologists, including spearheading legislative programs, and his extensive board service demonstrate his commitment to public health and safety. Ben’s board and community service includes leadership roles with the Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, Care Synergy, and the Colorado Prevention Alliance. His commitment to public health and safety has driven initiatives that foster partnerships across healthcare, government, and community organizations.

Ben’s forward-thinking leadership and expertise in strategic planning, fiscal management, and stakeholder engagement position him to drive NBCOT’s continued success and innovation. He is dedicated to improving access to high-quality health care and enhancing NBCOT’s impact on the occupational therapy profession and the communities it serves.

Ben will officially assume his role on September 9, 2024, with a transitional period over the next three months.
