PPTA Medical Director search completed

JDG and the Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) are pleased to announce the appointment of Larisa Cervenakova, MD, Ph.D., as Medical Director for PPTA.  In this role, Dr. Cervenakova will provide medical and scientific guidance to staff and industry stakeholders on maintaining the health and safety of plasma donors, expanding the availability of plasma protein therapies around the world, and the safety and efficacy of these therapies.  She joins PPTA from the American Red Cross (ARC) where she most recently served as a Senior Scientist for Scientific Affairs.  During her tenure with ARC, she also served as a Scientist in the Plasma Derivatives and the Infectious Diseases departments, conducting and leading research teams in the study of emerging pathogens and prion-related diseases.  Prior to joining ARC, Dr. Cervenakova was a visiting fellow with NIH, following her research positions in two institutes in the Slovak Republic.  She is recognized as an authority among industry leaders, having published and presented widely, and has established significant collaborations with stakeholders across the globe.  Dr. Cervenakova holds an MD from the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Comenius University in the Slovak Republic.
