JDG completes search for NOAA’s Director, National Centers for Environmental Information

Prior to accepting his role as Director, NCEI, Deke Arndt served as the Chief of NCEI’s Climatic Science and Services Division (CSSD), taking the role in 2020 after serving as Chief of NCEI’s Monitoring Section. As CSSD Director, Deke focuses on steering the development of data for many uses, enhancing information services for customers, meeting user requirements, and synthesizing data for monitoring the environment. Deke formerly worked at the Oklahoma Climatological Survey. He serves as the co-chair of the U.S. Global Change Research Program’s Interagency Indicators Working Group.
