American Policy Ventures retains JDG to recruit 2 senior policy leaders

JDG Associates, Executive Search Consultants, has been retained by American Policy Ventures (www.apventures.org), a fast-growing nonpartisan 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization focused on de-risking cross-partisan collaboration in Congress and unlocking bipartisan action on critical policy issues facing our country. 

APV is seeking two dynamic, strategically minded Policy leaders at the Director or Vice President level (based on experience) to lead high-impact portfolios within its policy work. APV’s focus areas include federal policy related to science, technology, civil service reform, environmental permitting, global health as well as policies supporting family and children such as paid leave, the child tax credit, and childcare. Candidates DO NOT need to be subject matter experts in these areas but must have a strong interest and desire to learn and master policy making on these issues.

Critical to success will be:

• Demonstrated readiness for a visible, external facing leadership role, interacting with key stakeholders on the Hill, important nonprofit and PAC donors, and policy experts shaping bipartisan legislation.
• Prior experience in Congress, the federal government, lobbying, nonprofits, trade associations, advocacy, or policy organizations. 
• Political athleticism and acumen in a polarized environment, innate social intelligence, and a strong desire to make progress on critical policy issues.
