NOAA retains JDG to recruit its Director, Office of Systems Architecture and Advanced Planning

JDG Associates, Executive Search Consultants, has been retained by NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) to assist in identifying its Director, Office of Systems Architecture and Advanced Planning (OSAAP). Reporting to the Assistant Administrator of NESDIS, the Director of OSAAP, the de facto Chief Engineer and Chief Architect for NESDIS, is responsible for the overall direction of the system architecture and the space systems within NESDIS. The Director serves as the end-to-end (from space sensors to delivery of data products) system architect for NESDIS.

Keys to success in this role include:

  • In-depth technical knowledge and experience in the fields of physical science, engineering, computer science or systems science to develop and procure remote sensing satellites, their instrumentation, data acquisition, and processing systems.
  • Broad knowledge and extensive experience in satellite program development, architecture, and implementation.
