National Ocean Service retains JDG to recruit its Deputy Assistant Administrator for Navigation, Observations and Positioning
JDG Associates, Executive Search Consultants, has been retained by NOAA’s National Ocean Service (NOS) to assist in identifying its Deputy Assistant Administrator, Navigation, Observations and Positioning (DAA NOP). NOS is the Nation’s ocean and coastal agency – observing, measuring, assessing, protecting, and managing coastal, ocean, and Great Lakes resources. NOS provides science-based services to inform decision making, thereby positioning America’s communities, economies, and ecosystems for the future. Reporting to the Assistant Administrator, the DAA has full responsibility for establishing, managing, and providing strategic direction for the Navigation, Observations, and Positioning programs within NOS. Keys to success in this role include:
- Experience demonstrating the ability to interact effectively with diverse constituencies to establish cooperative relationships with governmental bodies at various levels.
- Substantial senior level experience in administration and direction of scientific and/or technical programs related to navigation, observations, and/or positioning, including operations and data management.
- Experience overseeing scientific program, planning, and policy development for physical science or environmental issues related to portfolio priority areas.
