Nareit retains JDG to identify two critical VP positions
JDG Associates has been retained by the Washington, DC-based Nareit to conduct the executive search for two Vice President, Research and Economic Analysis positions.
Nareit is the worldwide representative voice for real estate investment trusts (REITs) and publicly traded real estate companies with an interest in U.S. real estate and capital markets. Through the diverse array of properties, owned, financed, and operated, REITs help to provide the essential real estate resources needed across the national economy. REITs of all types collectively own $3.5 trillion in gross assets. REITs are important participant in all sectors of the commercial real estate space and have been leaders in a number of new and innovative real estate sectors including integrated logistics, cell towers, and data centers. U.S.-listed REITs have an equity market capitalization of more than $1.5 trillion, with more than 145 million Americans living in households with REIT ownership directly or through their 401(k) and other investment funds. As the leading producer and sponsor of research on REITs as investment vehicles, Nareit plays a key role in communicating their benefits—continuing income, diversification, capital appreciation and inflation protection—to investors, policymakers and the media worldwide.
The VPs will report to the Executive Vice President, Research and Investor Outreach and work closely with other professionals in one of the top-rated economic research groups in the nation’s capital. Successful candidates will have a background in economics, finance, and preferably some commercial real estate exposure. One of the successful candidates will focus on leading Nareit’s macroeconomic and real estate sector analysis and the other will focus on other components Nareit’s research agenda including deepening constructive ties with public, private and academic organizations in this field. Nimble and open to new ideas, Nareit routinely explores greenfield research opportunities in which both VPs would be expected to play an active and contributory role. Either position can be filled at the VP or SVP level depending upon candidate qualifications and experience.
