JDG commences an additional search for NOAA for its Director, Office of Sustainable Fisheries
The Office of Sustainable Fisheries (OSF) focuses on implementing, guiding, and achieving a core mandate of the NOAA Fisheries, ensuring the productivity and sustainability of fisheries and fishing communities through science-based decision-making and compliance with regulations. OSF is the principal source for advice and guidance on matters relating to domestic policy issues associated with the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSA).
The Director is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing broad national criteria, operational guidelines and procedures for conducting fisheries management responsibilities under the MSA, Atlantic Tunas Convention Act, and other statutory authorities. The Director provides policy advice and staff support to the Assistant Administrator for Fisheries, and prepares policy interpretation and implementation guidance associated with the Nation’s marine fisheries.
