JDG begins 2 key searches for NOAA’s Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research
JDG Associates, Executive Search Consultants, has been retained by the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR) within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to identify their Deputy Assistant Administrator for Programs and Administration. Fully sharing in the management of the Office and acting in the absence of the Assistant Administrator, this individual is responsible for leading OAR research programs, grant programs, and the administrative, financial, policy, human resources, planning, evaluation, international affairs, communication, and diversity and inclusion functions within the Office. S/he will be providing policy-level authoritative representation to intergovernmental, national, and international councils and meetings concerning NOAA interests in the areas of oceanic and atmospheric science and technology.
JDG also commenced the search for NOAA’s Director, Ocean Exploration and Research (OER). As the only U.S. federal program dedicated to exploring the deep ocean, OER is filling gaps in the basic understanding of global deep waters, the seafloor, and delivering ocean information to strengthen the economy, health, and security of the U.S. Acting as an advisor to NOAA’s Under Secretary and the Assistant Administrator for Research, the Director of OER determines the program’s future organizational direction, sets priorities, and allocates resources on current and future exploration activities, subject matter initiatives and regional expeditions while achieving an integrated agency-wide research exploration strategy to advance NOAA’s scientific objectives.
