GAO retains JDG to identify Personnel Appeals Board Members
JDG Associates, executive search consultants, has been retained by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to identify Personnel Appeals Board (PAB) Members. The PAB is an independent entity established as part of a separate personnel system Congress created for the GAO. Congress granted the GAO broad authority to manage its own workforce, but also sought to guarantee the constancy of civil service protections and employee rights by establishing an internal board to enforce and adjudicate those rights. The Board’s mission is to provide independent adjudication of employment disputes involving employees (and applicants for employment) of the GAO. Each individual on this 5-person Board serves as “administrative judge” to hear and settle matters appealed by GAO employees and applicants in cases involving adverse actions, EEO, prohibited personnel practices, and labor relations. This is an hourly position. PAB Members’ workload is determined based upon the number of cases being reviewed by the Board at any one time.
