Brookhaven National Lab retains JDG to recruit its Director, Research Partnerships and Technology Transfer
JDG Associates, Executive Search Consultants, has been retained by Brookhaven National Lab (BNL) to find its Director, Research Partnerships and Technology Transfer. BNL is a multidisciplinary laboratory with seven Nobel Prize-winning discoveries, 37 R&D 100 Awards, and more than 70 years of pioneering research. The Lab is primarily supported by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science. Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA) operates and manages the Laboratory for DOE. BSA is a partnership between Battelle and The Research Foundation for the State University of New York on behalf of Stony Brook University.
Reporting to BNL’s Deputy Director for Science and Technology, the Director will provide strategic leadership and supervision in the following areas: Strategic Partnership Programs; Economic and Community Development Partnerships; Institutional Partnerships, including with Industry; and Research Security, Commercialization and Intellectual Property Management; Technology Transfer.
Critical to success in this role includes:
- 12+ years of related experience, including 8 years’ executive level management.
- Experience demonstrating senior strategic alliance or business development in the national laboratory, academic, industry sectors and/or other relevant organizations.
- Strong relationship building skills that will enable establishing and sustaining productive relationships with internal clients, external parties, and major sponsors, and serving as the Laboratory’s representative in various peer groups at the national level.
