The Architect of the Capitol retains JDG
JDG Associates has been retained by the U.S. Congress to assist in finding the 12th Architect of the Capitol (“Architect”) in U.S. history. In this prestigious position, with budget responsibility of approximately $720 million and a diverse staff of 2,200, the Architect is appointed to a 10-year term by the President of the United States and is responsible to the U. S. Congress for the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of the United States Capitol complex, including the Capitol building, its grounds, the House and Senate Office Buildings and the Library of Congress buildings. Comprised of approximately 18.5 million square feet of space across 570 acres of land covering 36 structures, the Capitol campus is home to 30,000 daily occupants and hosts more than 3 million visitors annually.
