For the association CEO, being at the top means striking a balance among a complexity of forces, often in a 24/7 environment. Unfortunately, this can make reflection on his/her own performance and professional development difficult, rendering consideration of career direction, growth and goals all but impossible.
To meet this need, JDG has adapted the process it uses in developing CEO profiles for association CEO executive searches into an on-the-job, self-appraisal tool for the association and non-profit executive community.
The Workshop is a full-morning event presented in three parts: Discovery, Alignment and Future Focus.
In the Discovery Phase, participants answer a full range of questions about their organization and their professional strengths, skills, interests and instincts under the direction of the Workshop Leader. The Alignment Phase provides an opportunity for the participants – limited to six to eight in number – to analyze their responses in the Discovery Phase and to focus on how their professional capabilities and interests align with the needs of their current organizations. In the Future Focus Phase, participants explore how their strengths, traits and experiences can be directed and developed to enhance career goal identification and achievement.

Alignment – See how you align with the organization you are now leading.
Future Focus – Explore and determine how your current position aligns with your career goals.
