JDG and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Robert Detrick as the Assistant Administrator for the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR). Dr. Detrick is currently the Division Director for Earth Sciences at the National Science Foundation and was formerly the Senior Scientist and Vice President for Marine Facilities and Operations at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). He received his Bachelor’s degree in geology and physics from Lehigh University, Master’s degree in marine geology from the University of California, San Diego, and his Ph.D. in oceanography from the MIT/WHOI Joint Program.
